The launch week playbook from Biz Startup Launcher
Use this Biz Startup Launcher page as a checklist. Each stage has a few steps, and each step says why it matters.
Set things up
Complete your listing
Fill the gaps before launch day: description, features, FAQs and your founder profile, with a photo and at least one personal link.
Prepare your visuals
Pick screenshots that show the main thing your product does. Keep them current and readable, and add a brief demo video if you can.
Choose a good moment
Pick a launch week when you can be around to answer questions and reply to comments, not a week of travel or holidays.
Line up your announcement
A little notice helps. Tell the people who already use or follow your product, and prepare your posts ahead of time.
When the launch starts
Post in groups that welcome it
Pick the Reddit, Slack or Discord groups where your product genuinely fits, follow their rules, and write as the founder. Save Show HN for something people can try.
Mail the people who know you
A personal email to your users on launch day works well. Keep it short, include the link and add it to your welcome email for the week.
Reply to every comment
Answer every question and comment on your listing and on your posts, the same day if you can. Thank people for feedback.
Share the page
Post on X, LinkedIn and Bluesky with your launch link and one screenshot. Pin the post and use the link in your profile.
A word on votes: one person, one vote. Votes can never be bought, and asking friends to vote from extra accounts or swapping votes is not allowed.
While the week runs
Place the badge on your site
Copy the badge code into your website. Visitors who click it land on your listing page.
Submit to the right directories
Pick other directories that list products like yours, check their terms and submit there too.
Fix what people ask about
When the same question comes up twice, add the answer to your FAQs. Update screenshots or wording as you learn what people need.
Keep the story going
Do not just repeat yourself. A follow-up LinkedIn post with what you learnt on launch day gives people a reason to look again.
Later on
Launch again after a big update
Relaunch after a major release or a milestone. Lead with what is new since the first launch.
Track where people came from
Use your own analytics to see where sign-ups came from. Add tracking tags to the links you share so each place is counted separately.
Update it now and then
Return to your listing after each release and bring the description, pricing and images up to date.
Other places to launch
For the next places to list, see Best Launch Directories: launch platforms, startup directories and AI tool lists, each with Domain Rating, pricing and link type.
Extras for your launch
The steps above cost nothing. These extras from Biz Startup Launcher are there if you want them, priced as shown.
- Featured launch $19
Your listing in the Featured spot on the homepage for 7 days from your launch week, labelled Featured. It never adds a vote.
- Multi-site bundle $99
Write your listing once. We launch it for you on the other 49 launch and discovery sites, reworded for each one, and any edit you make afterwards reaches every one of them automatically.
- Done-for-you listing $149.99
We create your listing on 49 other launch and discovery sites, word each description for that site, and send you one email with all the links.
- Landing Page Position $49
Your company name, logo, tagline and a link to your website in the Sponsored slot on the homepage for 7 days.
- Category Position $19
Your company at the top of your listing's category page for 7 days, labelled Sponsored.
- Newsletter Position $29
The weekly newsletter's Sponsored place, for one issue.
- Billboard from $5
The more a company has contributed, the higher it sits; the top place goes to the highest total. It is paid placement, never a vote.
- Product review $19
A structured review built from your listing and your public website, shown in its own block on your listing and marked as commissioned by the maker; it adds no vote or rating.
- Editorial founder feature $29
Your founder story turned into an article from your own facts and edited by one of our editors. Nothing is made up.
Prices are in US dollars; VAT is added where it is due.
Questions
- May I ask for votes?
- Share the launch freely and let people choose. Votes can never be bought, and each person has one vote on one account.
- Which other launch directories should I use?
- Usually a handful that suit your product. Check each directory's terms, pricing and link type, and write each listing properly.
- What do I do once my launch is over?
- Keep the listing accurate, note which places worked from your analytics, and relaunch with your next big update.
- How soon should I post about the launch?
- Start on launch day itself. A second post during the week, built around something new, gives the launch a second chance.
