How founder stories work

A founder story tells the story of one product, written by one of its founders, and shows on that product's listing.

Founder stories

Think of it as the story of one product, told by someone who built it. Founders with more than one product write a separate story for each of them. Co-founders each write their own story of the same product.

Start writing

Open /account/founder/story (Account > Founder story). For each product you see where its story stands - Not started, Draft, Published on N sites - and Write or Edit. Each listing's profile screen in your account also has a 'Founder story for <product>' card that opens the same editor.

Guided sections

Under the heading 'Founder story: <product>' you answer six questions: how it began, the problem, what you made, what was hard, your milestones and your plans. Autosave keeps your draft as you work. Add photos if you like, up to 4. If you see 'Help me word this', it polishes your own sentences and adds nothing new; you decide whether to keep it.

Ready to publish?

Publishing needs a complete founder profile (/account/founder): the story shows your name and photo. Write at least 200 words in 3 or more sections. No more than 2 links, and no prices or offers.

Your story on Biz Startup Launcher

Readers find the story at /launch/<listing>/story/<founder>. Your founder profile links each product's story, and the /stories screen lists every published story. Visitors to the product's listing see a card for it. Founder stories belong to the full profile: a free listing shows the card locked until it becomes a paid launch.

Updating

An older story covering several products remains your general founder text, and new product stories start from it. You can edit and publish again at any time; changes go live when you publish. Any /founder/<name>/story link you shared before still works; with several products it opens your founder profile.
