What counts as a message sent for usage billing purposes?
A message sent is a single message delivered to a single user on a single channel. If a notification workflow results in a user receiving multiple messages across different channels, each message counts separately. Messages that bounce or fail are not included in billable usage, and messages generated by guide views do not count towards message sent usage.
How will I be charged and billed for my use of Knock?
There are no setup fees to begin using Knock. At the end of each month, your credit card is automatically charged for that month's usage. Billing starts when you upgrade to a paid plan, and your billing cycle anchor is set to the day of the month you upgrade, recurring monthly on that same date.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Volume discounts are available exclusively on the Enterprise plan for high-volume customers. Organizations interested in volume discounts should contact the sales team.
Does Knock sign BAAs for HIPAA-compliant customers?
Yes, Knock is HIPAA compliant and will sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) for Enterprise plan customers.
If I use Knock, do I still pay for downstream messaging services?
Yes. Knock does not currently manage billing for downstream platform providers that deliver your notifications, such as Postmark or Twilio. These services are billed separately by their respective providers.
